What is an ‘appathon’?
An appathon is an event where people who are excited about programming come together for 24-hours and collaborate to build a new mobile application to solve an existing problem. Entrepreneurs, designers, students, and developers work in teams of up to three members to create web or mobile applications called apps. Each year the Texas Tech Appathon committee meets and selects a topic, theme or existing issue that teams will have to work towards solving in the form of an app. After nearly 24-hours of coding, each team will present their app to the judges. After all teams have presented, the judges will discuss their scores among themselves and ultimately decide the winning teams.
